Dried Mushrooms


  

Prep time: 10 minutes
Cooking time; overnight in barely warm oven

Makes: about 2 cups

  1. The pilot light in my gas oven keeps the oven at 105 deg. F. when the door is ajar about 2 inches.
  2. Cut mushrooms into 1/4 inch slices.
  3. Spread mushrooms in single layer on drying racks.
  4. Leave overnight at about 105 deg. F
  5. Sprinkle in soups or on salads.
  6. You can also eat them as appetizers.The more you chew them, the more the umami flavor builds.

You might also experiment with using a crockpot overnight set on low overnight.
Perhaps an air fryer might also work set on low.
